Stories
This small but mighty club was able to do something extraordinary last month. The Highland Village Rotary bestowed the Paul Harris Fellow recognition on to first time recipients
June 24th brought about the end of a Rotary year and the beginning of the next. The previous board members were celebrated, a check was presented to the Fallen Officers fund, many Paul Harris Fellow awards were given and Tony Moon was awarded the Rotarian of the Year award for all his hard work and dedication to the organization.
This month the challenge is on! We are so close to ending polio forever! There are less than a few hundred active cases in the world, but that number could easily climb back up if we do not continue to provide the polio vaccine. This month we are asking all members to donate $25.00.  That is $725 total for our 29 members. Contact Treasurer Kate Voss kate@vossaccounting.com for all the payment options.

A little pandemic has not slowed down this rotary club! We have regrouped, rallied and engaged a few new members!

Please Welcome

We have had a great round of speaker lately. If you cannot attend in person, check out the email blast for the zoom meeting link and stay connected.
We have recently learned about Macro Economics from the Morrisons, Pool Safety from Stefanie Gardner, the great work of  Team Mercy from its founder Allison Dauteuil, and the continued fight to End Polio. Check out the calendar often and come on in person or virtually to learn something new. Also if you have any suggestions or recommendations for future speakers or topics please contact Amanda Gardiner at  amanda.gardiner@goosehead.co

We are proud to announce the Gavin A. Fleten Memorial Servant’s Heart Award to honor our co-founder, friend and THE model of what it means to have a servant’s heart.  From his years of delivering Meals on Wheels to serving as the de facto hunter/gatherer for anyone in need of his unique ability to bring people together for a common cause, Gavin was a force of nature unlike any other.  Gavin was not driven toward service by any particular cause.  He derived his passion from his desire to connect with people and to foster a network of connections that went deeper than most of us could ever strive to achieve on our own.
Don't forget that there is a spot available on our website for advertising. Please let us know if you would like to advertise your business for a small fee per month. Due to our upcoming events, we are promoting our website more and expect more traffic directed to our site.

Do you network using Facebook?  If so, search for Highland Village Rotary Club and become a fan!  There are many Rotarians from the area who are fans and also non-Rotarians.  It's a great way to show our networking community, family and friends what we are doing in our club.  Club activity photos are posted there as well.
